Tony Skyrme Researcher Suite
Exclusively for the use of research students and staff, this space is located on the first floor of the main Library and overlooks University Square. It consists of two rooms with a range of seating types, lockers and PCs and is accessible by swipe card access. Refreshment facilities are available.
Our heritage research collections are held in the Research Reserve. Items can be requested via FindIt@Bham, using the online form. Items are fetched at frequent intervals during the day. Certain items (e.g. fragile or rare items) and microforms can only be consulted in the Allport Room study space in the Research Reserve.
In addition to a range of workshops, the Research Skills Advisors can offer 1:1 appointments on: advanced literature searching (advising on but not undertaking literature/systematic reviews); Reference management and Endnote; Research metrics; ORCiD; and introductory advice in Open Access, Research Data Management and copyright.
1:1 appointments may be conducted in person, via email, over the phone, or online via Skype.
