YouTube clip below from supplier Proquest on creating an account for RefWorks. Includes on-screen subtitles.
Follow these steps to set up an individual account:
Option 1:
- Go to RefWorks in FindIt@Bham and select 'View Online'
- Select Create Account under the account bars, and in the next screen enter your University email address
- Select Check
- Think of and enter a password
- An activation link should be emailed to your Uni inbox. Find this and accept
- Complete the pop-up form with your details: you will then have a RefWorks Account
Option 2:
You can also use "login from my institution" if you prefer, and choose University of Birmingham from the list of institutional options on the "Create account" page.
Alternative link for RefWorks:
Go to refworks.proquest.com/ and then sign in with your personal account login or by selecting your institution.
Legacy:
There is an older version, called Legacy RefWorks, which is available for those still using it.
- Legacy can be found via a personal bookmark or a Google search for "Legacy RefWorks", but not on FindIt.
- Legacy Users: see also this Guide on transferring references from Legacy to New RefWorks
- DO NOT attempt to work on the same document using both versions of RefWorks. If you have started a document and are using the older, Legacy RefWorks, only switch versions after you have finished and submitted your document
