CINAHL and RefWorks: Tutorial

Activity: RefWorks (Using RefWorks)

Now try using RefWorks for yourself.

Using the instructions in this guide:

  • Set up an account on RefWorks (if you have not already)

  • Do a search on CINAHL (or another database) and export the results to your RefWorks account

  • Use the Quick Cite and Create Bibliography tools within RefWorks to:

    • generate in-text citations (for non-numbered styles: enter the numbers yourself in Word for Vancouver and others)

    • create a bibliography (ie reference list)

    • copy and paste the above into a Word document

  • Try installing the Write n Cite plugin for Word, via Tools - tools in your RefWorks account; or Citation Manager from within Word (Store - Add-Ins)
    • Open a Word document - use a test document first, not your actual assignment

    • If the plugin download is successful, use Write n Cite (RefWorks) in Word to insert citations and create a bibliography (reference list) at the end of a test document
