Part time and remote learning

Returning to education

It can be quite a challenge to transition from Undergraduate to Postgraduate Taught study, particularly if you have had a break for some time, are studying part time and are possibly on one of the University's online courses. This guided video activity (on Canvas) has been produced on how to deal with this transition.

There are some useful tools and resources on the Academic Skills Gateway to help with your transition to University study, and all Taught students are entitled to four online one to one appointments with our academic skills advisors in an academic year.

Dealing with competing demands

This video (on LinkedIn Learning) will help you to look at ways you can be more productive during your studies. Often with competing demands it is a good idea to look at your work rhythm and use online productivity tools to help you. If you would like help with your skills around this, the Digital Skills team, based in the library, can help you with getting to grips with tools such as Pebblepad, which are helpful planning tools for your studies.
