CC CafeCredit.com

The governmental fiscal year in the UK runs 1 April - 31 March. The personal tax year runs 6 April - 5 April. Historically the Chancellor of the Exchequer would deliver the annual Budget Speech to the House of Commons in the preceding month of March. In a move towards simplification, since 2017 there have been two budget speeches  - one in Spring and the other in Autumn.
