First, make sure you have watched the videos or followed the text instructions in this guide.
Now do a search on Ovid Medline, using your topic from the search sheet in Activity 1.
Reminder:
- Look for subject headings one at a time, then combine the separate lines with 'AND'
- Use the Limits in centre-screen
- Check the results lower down the screen: to see the full text of an article, use the FindIt@Bham link
- Tick boxes for the results you want to save: then Print, Email or Export
Subject headings or 'search by keyword':
- In the advanced search screen, keep the "Map term to subject heading" box ticked
- If you don't find a useful MeSH term, choose the 'search by keyword' option instead
Additional Limits:
- Click on the grey bar for Additional Limits in the middle of the screen
- Look for Age groups and choose one or more: or Publication Types and select Systematic Review or Randomized Controlled Trial
- Then click 'Limit a search' to place these limits on the last line of search
