To find statistics for a foreign country you can either use the statistical agencies of that country, or use figures compiled from national resources by international organizations such as OECD, the United Nations or the European Union. With the former option you need to have a good knowledge of any foreign languages involved; many sites do have an English version, but this is usually just for basic information. The latter option has the advantage that the figures from national sources are “harmonized”, with differing methodologies ironed out to make comparisons easier.
