Adding references in EndNote Online - FindIt@Bham

1A. Exporting individual results from FindIt

  1. Perform a search on FindIt@Bham
    • Make sure you have signed in to FindIt with your UoB login
  2. Click on the 3 dots at the right of the record
  3. Select EndNote Web in the resulting set of options under the record
  4. EndNote Online will then show on-screen with the header “Primo Import Results” (Primo is the search discovery tool for FindIt)
  5. Then open up EndNote Online to locate the exported reference(s) and transfer these to named groups (see lower down this page)

 

1B. Exporting a set of results

  1. Make sure you are signed into FindIt@Bham with your University login and perform a search
  2. Select the pin icon for each search result you wish to save
  3. This will bookmark the items for your Favourites in FindIt
  4. Go to your Favourites by selecting the pin icon at the top right of the screen
  5. Select each required result by ticking the numbered box to the left of each item, then use the three dots at the top of the My Favourites screen to open the list of options which includes EndNote Web
  6. Select EndNote Web to transfer the results to EndNote Online

 

2. In EndNote Online

  1. Go to [Unfiled] under All My References on the left hand list
  2. Select the record[s] in [Unfiled] and use the ‘Add to group’ function and drop-down menu to transfer the unfiled record to the named group of your choice: if you wish, you can set up and name a new group at that point
  3. Note that you may also need to go into the record and amend the publication date: this can be done by simply clicking on the item title; then go into the template and make the required change(s) and save the record
